Rogue-One, Art Pistol and Ejek decorated the side of Strathclyde University’s building. They dubbed it ‘Wonderwall’ and it celebrates many great achievements of the university.
Rogue-One, Art Pistol en Ejek versierden de zijkant van het gebouw van Strathclyde University. Ze doopten het werk ‘Wonderwall’ en het viert de vele grote realisaties van de universiteit.
Taking their inspiration from Run DMC’s music videos, Rogue-One in collaboration with Art Pistol again produced this work on John Street in Glasgow.

Today is an important day for Belgium and England. They clash in their final match of the first round of the World Cup soccer. Both teams have won their two previous matches and have equal points. So this match decides who wins. I say: may the best football win. I took this picture of Celtic Park from the top of Necropolis hill in Glasgow.
Vandaag is een belangrijke dag voor België en Engeland. Ze ontmoeten elkaar in hun laatste match van de eerste ronde in de wereldbeker voetbal. Beide ploegen wonnen hun twee vorige matchen en hebben gelijke punten. Deze match zal dus beslissen wie wint en doorgaat. Ik zeg: mogen de beste voetbal winnen. Ik nam deze foto van Celtic Park van op de top van de Necropolis heuvel in Glasgow.
Rogue-One again in collaboration with Art Pistol. This was conceived for another time and place, but copied here in the back streets of Glasgow. It celebrated the diversity of sustainable energy production within the Glasgow area and Scotland in its whole.
Terug een werk van Rogue-One in samenwerking met Art Pistol. Dit werk kwam tot stand voor een andere plaats en tijd, maar werd naar de achterstraatjes van Glasgow gekopieerd. Het viert de diversiteit van de vernieuwbare productie van energie om en rond Glasgow en in Schotland in haar geheel.
Another work by Smug (Sam Bates) this time inspired by a movie. His name is dangling from the girl’s neck, a nice touch.
Nog een werk van de hand van Smug (Sam Bates), deze keer geïnspireerd door een film. Zij naam bengelt van haar nek, een mooi idee.
This work by Rogue-One cleary illustrates one of the main objectives of the project: revitalise tired looking architecture. Rogue-One commented: I cannot really believe that I painted a wall to look like a brick wall.
Dit werk door Rogue-One illustreert duidelijk een van de belangrijkste objectieven van het project: moe-uitziende architectuur revitaliseren. De artiest zei: ik kan moeilijk geloven dat ik een muur schilderde om er uit te zien als een bakstenen muur.
Something I really wanted to see in the City of Glasgow were the murals.
This project started in 2008. Its objective is to rejuvenate streets and revitalise buildings and vacant sites that look a bit tired, reincarnating them as beautiful pieces of public street art.
This particular work in Argyle Street is a work by Smug, not the only mural by him in the city. It is an interpretation of an earlier work. He aims to surprise the viewer with this mural.
Iets wat ik echt wou zien in Glasgow is de muurkunst.
Dit project startte in 2008 met als objectief de straten te verjongen en vacante sites die er wat vermoeid uitzagen revitaliseren, als het ware reïncarneren als mooie publieke kunstwerken.
Dit werk in Argyle Street is van de hand van Smug, niet zijn enige werk in deze stad. Het is een interpretatie van een vroeger werk van zijn hand. Zij doel is om de kijker te verrassen met deze muurschildering.
I know that today is Saturday, but I’m looking ahead to tomorrow. I go to the beach with my doggie then. This is what the dunes looked like last Sunday. The weather was not that brilliant, but at least it did not rain. Or maybe just a couple of drops if my memory serves me right.
Ik weet dat het zaterdag is, maar ik kijk vooruit naar morgen. Op zondag ga ik mijn ons hondje naar het strand. Zo zagen de duinen er vorige zondag uit. Het weer was niet zo schitterend maar het regende niet. Op een paar druppels na als mijn geheugen mij niet in de steek laat.
Was reading about glamping on a friend’s blog. Further down the walk with Vinyl, I encountered this guy who was not exactly glamping. You see them more and more in our city, people who don’t have a roof over their head. Employment is really a problem in our city and a lot of people live in poverty. I’m not seeing much happening on a local political level to solve this problem. Hopefully the upcoming elections will select parties who want to do something about this. Do I really believe that?
Ik las over ‘glamping’ op de blog van een vriendin. Verder op de wandeling met Vinyl kwam ik deze man tegen dat dus niet deed. Je ziet dit meer en meer in onze stad, mensen zonder dak boven hun hoofd. Tewerkstelling is hier echt wel een probleem, onze stad bengelt gans onderaan de statistiek en veel mensen leven hier in armoede. En ik zie niet veel gebeuren op op een plaatselijk politiek niveau om dit probleem op te lossen. Hopelijk gaan de komende verkiezingen voor partijen zorgen die hier iets aan willen doen. Maar geloof ik daar echt in?
On our daily walk Vinyl and I encounter a lot of cats. Vinyl does not like cats that much, but I have taught him to ignore them. Even then they arch their backs and blow at him. This little kitten was not that sure and climbed the tree as we approached.
Tijdens onze dagelijkse wankeling koen Vinyl en ik veel katten tegen. Vinyl heeft het niet zo voor katten, maar ik heb hem geleerd om ze te negeren. Zelfs wanneer ze hun rug krommen en naar hem blazen. Dit poesje was precies niet op haar gemak en klom de boom in toen wij passeerden.
